I was very lucky to be invited by Fort Heart to be part of the For The Deckade exhibition held at backwoods Gallery in 2022.

Celebrating the skateboard as a canvas, I selected a recycled skateboard deck and created a piece of art.

I wanted to retain some life that had already been breathed into the deck by whoever the previous owners may have been. Then added a good dose of woman power over the top.

The first and last time I tried to stand on skateboard, I broke my elbow. So this was as close as I was willing to get to a board again.

I think I faced my fear.
